According to WHO (World Health Organization), approximately 1.35 million people die annually while between 20 and 50 million people suffer non-fatal injuries (with many incurring a disability as a result of their injury). Most of the accidents occur due to human error which includes lack of focus, incorrect judgment of pedestrians while crossing roads, speeding, and numerous other factors. Safe Drive is inspired by Tesla (Car Manufacturers) where they used an object detection model to detect, process, and react accordingly while the car is in autopilot mode.

Benefits to user

With over crowded cities becoming more common, making traffic conditions worse, it’s difficult for the drivers to assess every pedestrian crossing road, every vehicle distance from his/her car and identify any possible collision. Safe Drive eases users from this problem by monitoring the journey with the mobile phone’s camera, warning the user about closeness with the object in front and if the velocity of the car is high it warns the user to maintain constant speeds.

The user of this application will get the benefit to enable security features in any car without any modifications on the functioning of the car.

Application detects almost anything coming in the vehicle’s way and then warns the driver to maintain distance.
